Diabetes Home Test

A complete picture of your blood sugar control and insulin function to help detect diabetes, prediabetes, or insulin resistance early.

Our Diabetes Status home test gives you a clear picture of your blood sugar control and insulin function. By measuring HbA1c, insulin, and C-peptide, this panel shows your average blood sugar levels over time and how effectively your body is producing and using insulin. It’s an effective way to screen for diabetes, prediabetes, and insulin resistance, helping you understand your risk and take proactive steps for long-term health.

Diabetes Test Information

If you’re concerned you may have diabetes and want answers quickly, an HbA1c blood test is the best place to start. With iGP, you can provide your sample using a convenient finger prick or Tasso device in the comfort of your own home. Your sample will then be sent directly to one of our accredited laboratories for analysis, with results typically available in just a day or two.

You don’t need to fast before taking this test, and only a very small amount of blood is required. This makes the process straightforward and virtually painless. Once processed, you’ll receive your results securely, without the need for a GP consultation.

If your HbA1c level is 48mmol/mol or above, this indicates diabetes. If your result falls between 42 and 48mmol/mol, you’ll be classified as pre-diabetic, which means there is still an opportunity to reduce your risk of developing full diabetes through lifestyle changes.

Please note: This HbA1c test is different from the finger prick glucose checks carried out regularly by people already diagnosed with diabetes. If type 1 diabetes is suspected, further tests (such as blood ketone measurement) will usually be required.

Test Kit Options Finger Prick vs Tasso

At-home blood testing should be simple, accurate, and comfortable. That’s why we offer two collection methods, Finger Prick and Tasso, so you can choose the option that best suits your needs and comfort level.

Finger Prick Collection

Our Finger Prick kits use a small lancet to collect a few drops of blood from your fingertip.

Best for: Individuals who are comfortable with finger pricks and prefer a simple, cost-effective option.

Tasso Collection Device

The Tasso device is a small, adhesive, virtually pain-free device that draws blood automatically from the upper arm, no needles, no squeezing.

Best for: Those who prefer a more comfortable, effortless collection method or who are completing larger numbers of tests.

Which Option Should I Choose?

Both methods are designed to deliver high-quality samples for accurate laboratory analysis. Clear instructions are included with every kit to ensure your collection is smooth and straightforward.
