Level Checks - Male Hormone Test Information

Private Male Hormone Blood Testing

A quick blood test at an iGP clinic will tell you if hormonal changes are the cause of the symptoms you're suffering from. A male hormone blood test looks for sudden hormonal changes that can affect issues such as your sex drive, your energy levels and your muscle mass. You may also require such a test if your doctor is investigating your lack of fertility.

Testosterone is the primary male hormone these tests look for. It's absolutely integral to the development and maintenance of male sexual characteristics. Healthy testosterone levels regulate sex drive and maintain fertility. There's also evidence to suggest that this male hormone plays a crucial role in mental health.

Low levels of male hormones in your blood can lead to a condition known as the 'male menopause'. The clinical term for the condition is testosterone deficiency syndrome, and it can lead to a wide range of unpleasant symptoms.

iGP will create a complete male hormone profile with your blood sample, which might include other markers such as lipids, FSH and LH. This information will be used, along with other tests, to diagnose your condition.

What tests are included with the Male Hormone Blood Test?
