what is Seasonal Flu?

The seasonal flu is caused by influenza viruses that change each year, leading to widespread outbreaks. It can cause fever, chills, fatigue, cough, and body aches, and in severe cases, it can lead to pneumonia or hospitalization. The seasonal flu vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and others, especially those most vulnerable, such as the elderly, young children, and individuals with chronic health conditions.

The Seasonal Flu Vaccine

The seasonal flu vaccine is updated annually to protect against the most prevalent strains of influenza. It is administered as a single injection and is recommended for everyone over six months of age, particularly those at higher risk of severe complications. The vaccine reduces your risk of contracting the flu and spreading it to others, providing vital protection during the flu season. Annual vaccination is essential as immunity declines over time and flu viruses evolve.

Corporate & Group Bookings

We can provide flu vaccinations for groups or companies, both in-clinic and off-site. For further information please email occupationalhealth@theigp.co.uk
