Contraceptive coils and implants are popular and effective choices for women to manage contraception. IGP offer a fast and easy insertion, replacement and removal service carried out by our qualified and experienced clinicians.
It is not uncommon to feel dizzy or feint after a coil insertion. Because of this we advise you do not drive yourself or use public transport for your journey home, but make alternative arrangements with a friend or family member.

Important: An instant pregnancy, chlamydia and gonorrhea test will be carried out before your insertion. Please bring a urine sample with you to your appointment. An in date coil, effective contraception or abstinence from sex is required for the 3 weeks before the pregnancy test. If your coil is in date no abstinence is required. If you experience any of the following you will not be able to proceed with the insertion; bleeding between periods, bleeding after sex, passing clots or flooding through tampons.

If you cancel your appointment 24 hours before it starts, then you will receive a full refund. However, If you cancel your appointment within the 24-hour period before the appointment is due, then you will be liable to pay the cost of the consultation.
