Not all health assessments are equal. Many private health checks are nurse-led, conducted in temporary venues, and deliver results without clinical follow-up. The iGP Wellness Medical is different. Every assessment is conducted in HIW-registered clinics by GMC-registered doctors and experienced nurses, with your ECG independently reviewed by a cardiologist. You receive a detailed report and a follow-up GP consultation to discuss your findings, answer your questions, and agree a plan that is right for you.
Before your in-clinic appointments, an iGP nurse will contact you by phone or video to gather essential background information and schedule your clinic visits at a time that suits you. This allows your clinical team to prepare a personalised assessment and ensure your appointments are focused on what matters most to you.
Your first in-clinic appointment is with an iGP nurse, who will carry out a series of physical measurements and observations. These provide your clinical team with an accurate baseline picture of your current physical condition, informing both the GP examination and the interpretation of your blood test results.
Your second in-clinic appointment is a one-hour consultation with an iGP GP, who will carry out a thorough physical examination covering your heart, lungs, abdomen, ears, throat, and musculoskeletal system. The appointment also includes cancer awareness checks — breast, testicular, and prostate examinations — to identify any early warning signs. Your GP will also review your pre-medical questionnaire and address any current concerns you have raised.
During your nurse appointment, a blood sample will be taken and submitted for a 120-point pathology panel covering 18 health categories. The results are analysed by an accredited laboratory and reviewed by your clinical team, providing a detailed picture of your health across every major system. Once your appointments are complete, you will receive a comprehensive report delivered securely via our patient portal. The report presents your results using a traffic-light system, making it straightforward to identify any areas that fall outside normal ranges. Each result includes a clear explanation and, where relevant, recommendations for next steps — whether that is a lifestyle adjustment, further investigation, or no action required.
Once you have received and reviewed your report, an iGP GP will contact you to arrange a follow-up consultation by phone or video. This is an opportunity to discuss your results in detail, ask any questions, and agree a personalised plan based on your findings.
The Wellness Medical is delivered across four appointments. A nurse appointment and a GP appointment are conducted in clinic, with your pre-medical assessment and follow-up consultation available by phone or video at a time that suits you. Your ECG is independently reviewed by a cardiologist, and your full results report is delivered securely via our patient portal before your follow-up consultation.

The Wellness Medical is suitable for all adults, though the importance and frequency of this comprehensive assessment increase with age. We recommend those over 40 have an "MOT" style health assessment every 5 years, and those over 60 every 1 to 2 years.
It is not advised for individuals who are symptomatic or have an existing condition they wish to investigate. For these cases, we recommend a consultation with one of our doctors to focus on symptoms or arrange pathology specific to the condition. While our tests are comprehensive and may highlight areas contributing to current symptoms, the Wellness Medical is designed to offer an overall picture of your health. If any issues are identified, we will focus on those areas and offer appropriate advice.

No, you don’t need to be registered to have a Wellness Medical. However, to take full advantage of iGP’s services, you may wish to register today or sign up for My iGP, our monthly membership plan designed to help you spread the cost of day-to-day GP-led healthcare.
My iGP - RegisterYour appointment with us is fully confidential, and we will not share your appointment details or medical records without your express permission. In some cases, such as with a Wellness Medical, you may wish for us to inform your NHS GP of your test results. However, we are not linked to NHS systems, and your information is kept entirely separate.
We are unable to claim directly from insurance providers. However, if your policy covers health assessments or medical consultations, we will provide a full itemised invoice so you can submit a claim directly to your insurer.
