Professor Orhan Uzun is a Consultant Paediatric and foetal Cardiologist at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, and an Honorary Clinical Teacher at Cardiff University Medical School. He qualified from Istanbul University in 1986, completed his MD in 1992, and undertook specialist training in Paediatrics and Paediatric Cardiology in Turkey and the UK. He further specialised in Cardiac Electrophysiology and foetal Cardiology with fellowships in Canada at the University of British Columbia and the University of Toronto.
Professor Uzun has been instrumental in developing paediatric and foetal cardiology services in Wales, founding the Welsh Paediatric Cardiovascular Society in 2008 and the Welsh Foetal Cardiovascular Network in 2014. He has led innovations in telemedicine and remote arrhythmia monitoring, earning multiple NHS Innovation Awards. His research interests include foetal and childhood arrhythmias, inherited cardiomyopathies, and non-invasive rhythm monitoring. He has published extensively and serves as a faculty member and organiser for national and international cardiology conferences.
