A PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) test is a blood test used to measure the level of PSA, a protein produced by the prostate gland. Elevated PSA levels can be an early indicator of prostate conditions, including prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or prostatitis. It is commonly used as a screening tool for prostate health, especially in men over 50 or those at higher risk of prostate-related issues. The test helps detect potential concerns early, allowing for timely diagnosis and management.
Important: It is recommended to avoid ejaculation for 24-48 hours before the test, as it can temporarily raise PSA levels and lead to inaccurate results. Also, avoid heavy physical activity, especially cycling or activities that put pressure on the prostate, for 48 hours prior to the test, as this may elevate PSA levels.
Please note that our courier collects tests samples at 15.30pm and that you need to BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT BEFORE 14.50PM. Suitable for those over 18 years of age. Please Click Continue to confirm you have read the above and to book your appointment online.
