The WID-easy test offers a safe, quick, and minimally invasive test for abnormal uterine bleeding, particularly during peri- and post-menopause. Using a simple vaginal swab—similar to a cervical smear—the test analyses DNA methylation markers linked to endometrial (womb) cancer. WID-easy provides a highly accurate assessment while sparing most patients the need for invasive procedures.
*Your clinician will take a sample from behind your cervix, similar to having a PAP smear test.
WID-easy is a new, minimally invasive test developed to help diagnose the cause of abnormal uterine bleeding in peri- and post-menopausal women. Instead of relying on more invasive hospital procedures such as hysteroscopy, WID-easy uses a quick vaginal swab—similar to a cervical smear—to collect cells from the womb lining. These are then analysed in a specialist laboratory using advanced genetic (DNA methylation) techniques to check for changes linked to endometrial (womb) cancer.
This means patients can receive a highly accurate result without the need for uncomfortable or time-consuming investigations. With a sensitivity of around 90% and a specificity of up to 99.7%, WID-easy provides reassurance quickly, reduces unnecessary procedures, and supports earlier detection where treatment may be needed.
The WID-easy test is intended for women who are:
It is not designed as a routine screening test, but rather as a targeted investigation for women with concerning symptoms. Your doctor or nurse will advise whether the WID-easy test is right for you.

By replacing more invasive procedures with a simple swab, it makes the process quicker, less uncomfortable, and less stressful — while still providing excellent clinical accuracy. WID-easy not only reassures women sooner, but also reduces the need for unnecessary hospital visits and procedures, helping patients feel supported and cared for every step of the way.
